What it costs

per notarial act
Set by Florida law — Fla. Stat. § 117.05(2)(a) caps the fee for each notarial act at ten dollars. Nobody in Florida can lawfully charge more than this for the act itself.
Travel
quoted separately
A travel fee is separate from the notarial fee and is agreed with you before anyone drives out. You will know both numbers before booking — no surprises at the table.

Acknowledgments
Confirming you signed a document willingly and that you are who you say you are. The most common act — deeds, powers of attorney, contracts.
Oaths & affirmations
Sworn statements where you affirm the content is true, for court filings, affidavits, and sworn declarations.
Jurats
You sign in the notary’s presence and swear the contents are true. Common on affidavits and verified pleadings.
Attested photocopies
Certifying a copy matches the original, for documents you cannot get a certified copy of elsewhere.
Solemnizing marriage
Florida is one of the few states where a notary public can legally perform a wedding ceremony.
Before the appointment
- Bring valid, unexpired photo ID — driver’s license, state ID, passport, or military ID.
- Do not sign the document beforehand. Most acts require you to sign in the notary’s presence.
- Every person signing has to be present with their own ID.
- If a witness is required, arrange one — a notary cannot always serve as both notary and witness.
- Have the full document with you, including any exhibits or attachments.
